Electrical Epilation with the Apilus Platinum Pure

The world-exclusive design of the Apilus Platinum Pure uses an ultrarapid 27 MHz radio frequency to permanently and rapidly eliminate all hair types of any colour. The Apilus Platinum Pure works twice as fast as any other epilator by optimizing energy concentration in the hair follicle. The cells responsible for hair growth are more rapidly coagulated, resulting in incomparable effectiveness and comfort.

The world-exclusive design of the Apilus Platinum Pure uses an ultrarapid 27 MHz radio frequency to permanently and rapidly eliminate all hair types of any colour. It works twice as fast as any other epilator by optimising energy concentration in the hair follicle. The cells responsible for hair growth are more rapidly coagulated, resulting in incomparable effectiveness and comfort.

100% Permanent Results More Rapidly

The effectiveness of the Apilus Platinum Pure device has been confirmed in comparative scientific studies performed in cooperation with Dr. Charles Doillon, research scientist and professor at the Université Laval Hospital Centre in Québec City, Canada. With the energy concentration of the Apilus Platinum Pure, it is possible to obtain results much more rapidly than with any other epilator currently on the market. Due to the ultrarapid 27 MHz radio frequency applied precisely inside the follicle, the Apilus Platinum Pure can permanently eliminate all hair cells. The number of treatments to obtain complete and permanent results is 25% less than usual. Moreover, the Apilus Platinum Pure can effectively treat any hair or skin color, an achievement that laser or intense pulse light (IPL) devices can’t reproduce.

Exceptionally Efficient Hair Removal Techniques

The world-exclusive Apilus Platinum Pure offers new hair removal techniques using the 27 MHz radio frequency, all designed to deliver outstanding results:

PicoFlash™, MultiPlex™, PicoBlend™, OmniBlend™, and MultiBlend™.

PicoFlashTM – With its exceptional speed, the PicoFlash™ technique produces a very localized coagulation at the base of the hair follicle avoiding heat dispersion in the surrounding tissues. Thus, it directly targets cells of any type of hair growth, and provides a level of comfort that will amaze your clients.

MultiPlexTM – The MultiPlex™ technique is the ideal solution for curly, distorted hairs. With its combination of low intensity radio frequency and ultrarapid PicoFlash™ pulse, it helps you to reach the base of the follicle regardless of its shape. Synchro +TM Option (Patent Pending Technology) – The SynchroTM radio frequency is very effective for tough and deeply-rooted hairs. Its simultaneous application of a hundred or so 27 MHz picopulses of less than .002 of a second each, eliminate all germ cells located between the bulb and the bulge of the follicle. This unique technology offers impressive results!

Blend Modes – Blend modes, namely PicoBlend™, OmniBlend™ and MultiBlend™, are strongly recommended for deeply rooted, stubborn or distorted hairs in the anagen phase. While PicoBlend™ combines a galvanic current with a precise number of 27 MHz pulses, OmniBlend™ and MultiBlend™ combine the galvanic current with a continuous 27 MHz current. The MultiBlend™ technique also adds a split-second 27 MHz PicoFlash™ pulse at the end of the Blend sequence. This intensifies the destructive effect of lye inside the hair follicle, from the bulge to the bulb.

How does the treatment work?

Electrolysis involves the insertion of a very fine, disposable, sterile probe (the same diameter as the hair) into the hair follicle, which is a natural opening in the skin. A tiny amount of energy is then skilfully discharged into the hair follicle. The only sensation felt by the client is heat passing down the probe to the base of the follicle. The follicle destruction is achieved by heat (with thermolysis) or a chemical reaction (with galvanic) or both blended together (with the blend). The treatment can be adapted to suit each client’s skin, hair and discomfort level.

What can be achieved?

During a course of treatments there will be a constant, gradual decrease in the growth of the hair until the desired reduction has been achieved. The number of treatments required will vary from person to person and will be discussed at the initial consultation.

Electrolysis can be used on any part of the body. No type or volume of body hair is too stubborn for treatment and no body part too embarrassing. Treatment areas include all facial areas, legs, bikini line, chest, nipples, back, abdomen, underarms, fingers, toes and eye brows.

Am I suitable for treatment?

The treatment can be adapted to suit each client’s skin, hair and discomfort level.

Is there any down time?

Yes there maybe some redness and raised bumps lasting 2-24 hours depending on skin sensitivity.

What skin types can be treated?

Skin type I-VI

IPL - Intense Pulsed Light Lighter Skin Types I-IV

How does the treatment work?

The light guide (LG) is placed perpendicular to the skin resting on a thin layer of cooled ECG Gel, then a short pulse of light is released targeting many follicles simultaneously. Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair and its follicle. The energy created by the light source heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells. The LG is then moved to the neighbouring area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore multiple treatments are required. These can be conducted every 4 - 6 weeks and typically a total of 6-8 are needed for optimum results. A test patch is required before treatment commences, this can be carried out at the time of consultation and is necessary to comply with the medical insurance provider.

Am I suitable for treatment?

Most fair skinned people are suitable for IPL treatment and this would be determined at consultation. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of melanin, fair/red hair is harder to treat because it has less melanin and grey/white hair is not suitable due to the lack of melanin.

Is there any down time?

Some redness will be evident after the treatment lasting between 30mins - 2hours. Peri-follicular oedma in the form of small bumps may be evident immediately after treatment. This is the skins natural histamine response.

What skin types will it treat?

Skin types I-IV can be treated safely.

Nd:YAG 1064nm Laser Darker Skin Types IV-VI

How does the treatment work?

The long pulsed Nd:YAG laser has the longest wavelength of all the lasers commonly used for hair removal and as such shows a decreased affinity for absorption in the epidermal melanin. This reduced absorption results in less skin heating and it is therefore considered safe for skin type VI. It also means that skin penetration depths are relatively high. This enables the laser energy to easily reach the hair bulb and bulge region and cause lethal follicular damage, resulting in long-lasting hair reduction.

The space bar is placed perpendicular to the skin resting on a thin layer of cooled ECG Gel, then a short pulse of light is released. Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair and its follicle. The energy created by the light source heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells. The process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

A test patch is required before treatment commences, this can be carried out at the time of consultation and is necessary to comply with the medical insurance provider.

Am I suitable for treatment?

There is minimal absorption of melanin with these wavelengths enabling safer treatment of darker skin types IV-VI.

Thinner, dark hairs which do not respond to IPL on skin types I-IV.

Is there any down time?

The skin may be red immediately after treatment and the hair follicles may be swollen and bumpy, known as a peri-follicular oedema which usually subsides within a few hours. Undesired reactions are rare but may include a small blister or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin.
